1. Project Name:

Economics of smallholders’ cropping systems intensification

(This research envisages to answer the following research questions: (i)What are the cropping systems intensification solutions smallholders’ arable crop farming of Bangladesh has been adopted? (ii) Are whole field conventional mechanized systems with human operators a cost-effective approach compared to partial conventional mechanized systems in monocultural practices? (iii) Are mixed cropping systems with whole field conventional mechanization a profitable alternative to monocultural practices?).

Project No.: 2024/2143/BAU

Duration: 2024-2026

Position Held: Principal Investigator (PI)

2. Project Name:

Appropriate mechanization in Bangladesh for sustainable smallholders’ arable crop farming: From local adoption to scaling up

(The specific objectives of this study is to: (i) assess the economics of conventional human operated 2WM and 4WM, and (ii) evaluate whether low-cost retrofitted 2WM could be the long run sustainable solution).
