Agrivarsity (Mymensingh) 5 March 2025 : Dr. Li Xiaoyun, Lead Chair Professor of China Agricultural University (CAU) and Honorary Dean of the College of International Development and Global Agriculture (CIDGA) and the China Institute for South-South Cooperation in Agriculture (CISSCA) and Dr. Xu Jin, Associate Professor of College of Humanities and Development Studies and Assistant Dean of CIDGA at China Agricultural University visited BAU on Wednesday 5 March 2025 and met Professor Dr. A K Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan, The Vice Chancellor Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU). The purpose of the visit was to explore the opportunity for collaboration in research and students exchange program, especially for MS, PhD and Postdoc between BAU and CAU. China Agricultural University (CAU) is the Top-ranked University in the world in the filed of Agricultural Science. Prof. Li invited hon’ble Vice Chancellor to attend the World Agri Food Innovation Conference to be held at CAU in October 2025 where a Strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BAU and CAU is expected to be signed. This MoU will facilitate academic and research exchanges between BAU and CAU in the field of agriculture, especially in rural development and poverty reduction of farming households. The Centre for Farming Systems and Climate Resilient Agriculture at BAU has initiated the MoU with CAU. Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Kader, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Matiur Rahman, Prof. Dr. M. Asaduzzaman Sarker, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Khairul Hasan and Prof. Dr. Md. Rashedur Rahman were present during the meeting. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor gave special thanks to Prof Li and Dr Xu for visiting BAU also for their initiative to foster research exchanges between BAU and CAU.
